Step 1: First, decide on the colour of salt bricks or tiles.
Himalayan white salt tiles have bright, strong, and striking colours. White salt tiles give a significant lightening effect.
Himalayan Pink Salt tiles have pink to orange shades. They create a warm and glowing effect.
You must choose between the bricks and tiles.
Himalayan Salt Tiles:
Measuring 1 inch thick, weighing 2.5 to 2.9 lbs. It is a standard choice for salt tiles that are used in the backlit salt wall.
Himalayan Salt Bricks:
Measuring 2 inches thick, weighing 5.5 lbs. It is a standard choice for salt tiles that are used in the backlit salt wall. Salt bricks are used for the thickness of the salt wall. That is useful for dry sauna rooms and high-temperature environments.
Step 2: For the installation of a backlit slat wall, you need metal and wooden frames for securing and tightening the back structure.
Low-heat LED strips will be installed properly to avoid thermal expansion issues.
After that, make sure all the lights are functioning properly.
Step 3: Now select the bonding glue carefully because all bricks or tiles must be fitted to each other. Don't use construction glue, regular tile mortar, or liquid nails. To avoid a chemical reaction, don't use the standard chemical adhesives. Always use special neutral binding agents like Salt Adhesive. This is specially formulated for light transmission through the salt tiles.
Step 4: Now the masonry process is going to start.
Clean the wall carefully with a dry cloth. Clean the dust and pink powder from the tiles or bricks. Now the installation process has started. Put the bricks one by one on the metal or wooden frames.
Now apply the adhesive glue between the joints of bricks and tiles.

Now use a running bond pattern to stack the tiles. This pattern is suitable for a salt wall. The weight is evenly distributed.
The installation site needs a dry temperature controlled environment and the adhesive needs to fully cur, temperature-controlled8 hours for the installation of back light behind the tiles or bricks.
Step 5: Himalayan salt backlighting or moisture from the air.
Control the humidity to preserve the structure of your salt wall. Always maintain a dry environment. Don’t install these salt walls in the wet steam rooms. Always keep away from heavy splashes of water.
Always avoid liquid sprays, water buckets or chemical sprays to clean it. Only use a dry cloth to clean the salt wall.
